Join us at Engineering Kiosk Rhine-Ruhr, a dynamic tech meetup happening in the heart of the Rhine-Ruhr region, in Germany! This event brings together tech enthusiasts, engineers, and professionals from various fields to explore the intersection of engineering culture, open source, people and technology.
📅 Date: 15 October 2026 - open doors at 18:00 (talks start ~1h later)

Ramona Schwering · Developer Relations Engineer @ Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG
Frontend developers know one golden rule: never render untrusted user input as HTML without properly sanitizing it. Every framework has its own APIs and escape hatches where this rule matters.
Yet, as we're integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into our applications, we often make a potentially dangerous mistake: we treat AI-generated output as a trusted source.
That should be fine, right? Well, not automatically…
Ramona is a developer relations engineer with roots in quality assurance. She owns both views of the product - that of a tester and a developer. Ramona primarily uses this to strengthen trust in test automation and support the testers and developers alike, becoming a Google Developer Expert in Web Technologies, Women Techmaker Ambassador, and Cypress ambassador.

Alexander M. Turek · CTO @ SensioLabs Deutschland
Software changes. Dependencies evolve. New requirements appear. A Symfony application that can adapt without major disruption gains a powerful long-term advantage — this talk explores architectural choices that keep core business logic stable while technology evolves.
Alexander likes open-source software and pushes the PHP ecosystem forward as a member of the Symfony and Doctrine core teams. He prefers codebases that have aged like a good whisky. At SensioLabs Deutschland, he helps clients that are stuck on legacy codebases and trains developers on the Symfony framework.
